Question 1

How much does AMEX Moving & Storage charge for a long-distance move?

Accepted Answer

AMEX Moving & Storage typically charges $3,200–$5,500 for a 2-bedroom long-distance move of approximately 500 miles, based on MoveSmart's analysis of carrier rate data. Prices increase with shipment weight, distance, and add-on services such as packing, storage, and specialty item handling. Peak season (May–August) on the 2026 Cost Index runs about 18–22% above January (100). Always request a binding estimate so your final price is guaranteed regardless of actual weight.

Question 2

Is AMEX Moving & Storage licensed and insured?

Accepted Answer

Verify this company's USDOT number and operating status at FMCSA (https://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/) before booking. All licensed interstate movers are required to carry cargo and liability insurance.

Question 3

How long does a AMEX Moving & Storage move take?

Accepted Answer

Transit time for a AMEX Moving & Storage move depends on distance. Local moves typically complete in 1 day. Regional moves of 200–500 miles usually take 2–5 business days. Cross-country moves of 1,500+ miles can take 7–14 business days. These are estimates — factors such as weather, pickup/delivery consolidation, and access conditions can extend delivery windows. Confirm the estimated delivery date in writing before your move date.

Question 4

Does AMEX Moving & Storage offer binding estimates?

Accepted Answer

A binding estimate guarantees your final moving cost regardless of actual shipment weight, while a non-binding estimate can increase by up to 10% above the original quote. Ask AMEX Moving & Storage specifically for a binding estimate if cost certainty is important. Under federal law (FMCSA regulations), the mover must honor a binding estimate as long as no additional services are added. Always get your estimate in writing and keep a copy.

Question 5

What do AMEX Moving & Storage reviews say?

Accepted Answer

Customer feedback commonly highlights reliable on-time performance and responsive customer service. Common complaints across most long-distance movers relate to delivery window estimates and claims handling. Check the FMCSA complaint database and BBB profile for any formal complaints against this carrier.

Question 6

How do I get a quote from AMEX Moving & Storage?

Accepted Answer

To get an accurate quote from AMEX Moving & Storage, you'll need to provide your origin and destination zip codes, estimated move date, home size (number of bedrooms), and a list of large or specialty items. Most movers offer virtual surveys via video call — this typically produces a more accurate estimate than a phone-based quote. Have your list of high-value items ready, and ask specifically about binding vs. non-binding estimates, fuel surcharges, and stair/elevator fees.

Question 7

Does AMEX Moving & Storage offer storage?

Accepted Answer

Many full-service movers including AMEX Moving & Storage offer storage-in-transit for shipments that cannot be delivered on your target date. Storage rates are typically charged per day based on shipment size, averaging $50–$150/day for a standard 2-bedroom load. Long-term storage is usually available at warehouse facilities. Confirm whether stored items remain under the same insurance coverage as in-transit goods, and get storage pricing in writing before your move.
